Edward Chen

Hello! I am currently a 2nd-year PhD student in the Computer Science department at Stanford University, where I am fortunate to be advised by Professor Carlos Guestrin. I am also affiliated with the Stanford AI Lab and Stanford Machine Learning Group. My research interests currently revolve around enabling safer and more practical machine learning algorithms, with a particular focus on model evaluation, fairness, as well as applications to healthcare. I am grateful to be supported by the NDSEG Fellowship starting Fall 2021.

Previously, I received my dual B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics from the Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University and my M.S. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, where I am grateful to have worked with Professors Ethan Fang, John Galeotti, and Howie Choset.
