Edward Chen

Hello! I am currently a PhD student in the Computer Science department at Stanford University, where I am fortunate to be advised by Professor Carlos Guestrin. I am also affiliated with the Stanford AI Lab and Stanford Machine Learning Group. My research is centered around Human-AI Alignment and Safety. In particular, I have worked on the following topics: Specification, helping to make human intentions for AI systems easier to specify, and Scalable Oversight, empowering humans to supervise complex AI systems more capable than them.
